The Scottish Award for Licensed Premises Staff (SALPS) online course meets the requirements of The Licensing (Scotland) Regulations 2007, which state that every person who is involved in the sale of alcohol must receive relevant training.

Description

The Scottish Award for Licensed Premises Staff (SALPS) course is accredited and endorsed by leading awarding bodies within the hospitality industry, including the Institute of Hospitality and the BIIAB.

The aim of the course is to introduce you to:

  • The licensing objectives
  • The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005
  • The function of the Licensing Standards Officer
  • The definition of alcohol, units and drinking limits
  • Proof of Age and acceptable I.D.
  • Managing conflict

Assessment: Upon completion of the course, learners will complete an end-of-learning assessment consisting of 20 questions. 70% of the questions need to be answered correctly to pass and receive a certificate.

Course duration: 2 hours*
* Based on average time taken by candidates.

To meet the requirements of Licensing (Scotland) Regulation 2007 it should take at least 2 hours to complete this course and must be verified by the signature of an existing Personal Licence Holder.
